Utah Emergency Physicians (UEP) provides emergency medicine clinical staffing services within the Intermountain West and is a close partner with Intermountain Health. We currently staff Alta View Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, LDS Hospital, McKay-Dee Hospital, Layton Hospital, Riverton Hospital, Cassia Regional Hospital, and Bear River Valley Hospital. Additionally, we help in supplying clinical staffing on an as-needed basis at Sevier Hospital, Park City Hospital, and Heber Valley Hospital.

Utah Emergency Physicians and its predecessor groups have served patients in the Intermountain West for over 40 years. We have expanded our reach over time, continually adding practice opportunities in alignment with the growth of Intermountain Health. Currently, we serve 8+ facilities and continually assess opportunities for appropriate and mutually beneficial growth.

Our group is comprised of approximately 120 physicians and 25 APPs and is a fully democratic group with an equal ownership model. The vast majority of our physicians build their entire careers with UEP, and we have minimal attrition. We are actively engaged in our practice, contributing to clinical improvements, committees, governance, and wellness initiatives both within UEP and Intermountain Health. Our group's success is rooted in our commitment to nurturing and developing our practice of taking the absolute best care of our patients while nurturing our relationship with Intermountain Health.

UEP leadership is managed by our CEO, President, and vice president in addition to our two main leadership groups - an elected Board of Directors and a Clinical Practice Management Committee (CPMC). The CPMC is comprised of directors of each Emergency Department, the APP lead, TeleEM Director, etc.  Together in consultation with our colleagues, decisions are made on the direction and business decisions that UEP undertakes.

UEP has a robust history in professional development both within UEP as well as externally at Intermountain Health. We currently have multiple physicians that are active in providing excellent clinical bedside care in addition to high performance in Intermountain Health administrative positions including positions, such as CMO, CHIO and VP, Regional & Senior Medical Directors, Medical Staff Presidents, Simulation Directors, Disaster Medicine Directors, and more.
